Description/Description :
This design is a uncommon example of Japonism in Wolfers creations.
To my knowledge nothing similar in any catalogue.  
( Before the exhibition in Ghent of course.)
The texture is imitating cloth tied up by a rope.
This model was certainly created by Philippe Wolfers who was the designer for the family's workshop at that time.
He was in contact with 'Japonism' through the important exhibitions all around Europe.
This service was imported and presented in Germany through Wolfers' retailers.

It wears the Wolfers Belgian marks and the German state mark.
